Hi! It occurred to me that I don’t have a place akin to a message board. If you’d like to stop by for a cuppa, you have something to say,
a question to ask, something you’d like to get off your chest, this is the place to do it. Not to suggest you can’t leave comments on my blog posts – please (please, please, please!) continue to share your thoughts on them.

I simply thought it might be an idea to have a page set aside for an ongoing conversation, uninterrupted by blog posts. Also, if you come across any links you’d like to bring to people’s attention, they’re welcome here also
Talk with you soon,

Ah, no, no, no! Babbling pointlessly is the joy of this! Here there are no stage directions, no limits, no walls, no ceilings, no floors – you get the idea! And there had better NOT be any barbed wire or there will be spankings to be had!
Two things inspired this idea. One was that a friend of mine, Mark, has recently joined WordPress and he and I belonged to a now defunct poetry site. We’ve been whining piteously for the past couple of years that we don’t have access to its message board anymore, nor the community it engendered. So, I was hoping to give him that here to some extent. Also, there’s a little laziness involved for me. He kept writing to me at another site and I was constantly having to switch pages. Oh yes, ulterior motives indeed!
The second inspiration came from YOU! You wrote of a site and community you once belonged to online and it reminded me of everything I mentioned above. Also, I don’t know of any ’spoken word’ cafès around here in the ‘real world’ (I’m in Australia), so I’ve never been to a reading and certainly never given one. I fell in love with the coffee shop you mentioned in your What Am I? post. So, I think I might actually be gate crashing here!
At any rate, if we can create ourselves a virtual coffee shop where you can talk about whatever you feel like with no constraints whatsoever – forgive me that the coffee is delivered on a self-serve basis, won’t you? I don’t like your chances of getting it hot if you’re waiting for me to get it to you, although, I must say, I ROCK at making lattès, cappucinos, espresso, mochacino, macchiato, iced coffee and tea.
Now are you getting the idea on the whole “babble to your heart’s content” thing?
Oops, I started to say: “…if we can create ourselves a virtual coffee shop where you can talk about whatever you feel like with no constraints whatsoever…” and then got carried away telling you what an excellent waitress I am!
As I was going to say, if we can do that here, maybe we’ll all have a little piece of home for everyone just a click away. Your friends are, of course, welcome also
And did I mention ‘WELCOME to YOU, fox’?!
And you yell at me for self-deprecation??? If you’re going to start worrying about commiting “War and Peace” to page here, we’re in trouble!
The whole point is NOT to be conscious of content. This isn’t about “quality”, it’s merely an idle chat between friends. That means go ahead and bitch about work, ask how to change css coding, let me know what you’ve been up to, talk to anyone and everyone else who might turn up here, post a picture, a moronic joke, a link to something you found online that intrigued/amused/disturbed/moved you.
Um, if I keep this up I’m soon going to find myself having to attach a ToS and FAQ. Rather than continue with the wordiness I’ll make my first (and probably ONLY) attempt to be succint -
THERE ARE NO RULES
(Rather, remember: There is no spoon
)
“…talking of Michaelangelo…” (excerpted from ‘The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock’ by T.S. Eliot.)
There, now it’s not plagiarism
When do I get to see ‘monolith’ and ‘that is when it all began (bang)’ up in lights? If you don’t post them soon, I’m going to add another page here and put them up myself – that would be plagiarism!!
Ah, what’s the point, you know I’d never do it – well, not without splattering your name all over every post so people know who are and that you’re responsible for such genius. (Don’t be surprised if they also line up at the library and your house with pen and notebook in hand, wanting interviews and autographs – I really suck at keeping secrets!)
Now, you have two choices in this moment. You can go back to your page and share some of your incredible poetry…. or you can hang out here, farting for my amusement
What’ll it be?
This is a brilliant idea!
I of course, have no real idea what to talk about at moment. I shall return when I have something suitably brilliant or suitably pretty to say.
But I wanted you to know I found the idea to be delightful, and that I’d come back. The vastness of the everything is open topic leaves me staggered for what to do save babble pointlessly. Which I shall stop doing now and post.
love the idea. will do my best to add something worth reading.
what about farting, can i fart in here?
yeah, thats what i thought, prude.
see, it didnt take me long to break it down to juvenile fart jokes. i promise ive got it out of my system and ill now only talk of the sublime.
“in this room the women come and go . . .”
oops plagiarism.
I was wondering why I didn’t get any notification that you’d posted to your page. I’m afraid I got this message, sunshine
Problem?
Looks like you have a problem here sir/madam. You sure you have the right place? Maybe you got a little lost? Maybe you’re looking for something you’re not supposed to find? Either way, just go search for it, it can’t hurt.
Will you check something for me, please? Go into your dashboard and click on “Manage”. Do you have two posts listed there or do you have two posts listed as well as a ‘draft’ up the top? If the latter is the case, choose to edit it and, rather than hitting ’save’, choose ‘publish’.
That’s the only reason I can think of as to why your post hasn’t shown up on your page.
Any dramas, let me know, k?
Beautiful!
I’ve left a much lengthier response beneath ‘muskogee 1982′
I’ve included a link to it here because, as yet, your name doesn’t link through to your web site
Since I’m busy being all anal, could you possibly fix that for me? Just go into the very top of this page and get the drop down menu from “My Account” – it’s the first thing, top left. In that list you’ll see ‘Edit Profile’ – choose that. From there you’ll find a page with all of your details on it. Things like personal options and contact details. If you scroll down a little you’ll see the section with your email address (this is the place all of your notifications will be sent) and, directly under that, it says “website”. The url should already be filled in but, since it’s not showing your name as a link here, I guess not. Simply type in http://mkinnaird.wordpress.com and then save your changes
Am I not the world’s worst killjoy? You post one of my all time favourite poems and I go and geek out on you in the aftermath! Yes, I know, I’m wired all wrong
ok, i posted one, if you want more than that you gots to show some flesh. yeah, you heard me right.
bow chicka chicka bow bow.
dig it.

All done
If you really get stuck, I’ll talk you through making me a “temporary” user on your site which will give me access to do it for you
Don’t worry, you can revoke those privileges just as easily as adding them!
You did it!!!
Just clicked through from here
How easily cheered am I?
i need lots of help with this stuff, i just dont get it yet. teach me.
too much coffee in here, can a feller get a corona, and maybe a shot of jose?
help a brother out.
I knew I should have opened a pub instead
How are you going? Mastered your little dashboard there yet? Sorry I wasn’t about last night – three days without sleep was enough for me at that point – I was starting to hallucinate!
* breathlessly awaiting the next poem *
its going to take me a while before i master this thing. the biggest difference this time is that i have you to help guide me through it.
merci beau coup, mademoiselle.
oh yeah, thanks for the nice write up on my blog. my head is too big to fit through the doorway now.
i sound like red? that is highest praise indeed.
Now all we need to do is send people in your direction! So:
Mark Kinnaird can be found here
read a short review of Mr. Kinnaird here.
There, that should really take the pressure off putting some of your work up a.s.a.p, shouldn’t it?
no, no pressure at all. thanks alot for all of the support. it will take me a while, but ill get it.
I didn’t mean to do anything to your page, I just really wanted to see Bryant
As I said, I know it was presumptuous…. I omitted “annoying, anal, nosey, and meddlesome” but thought I had it covered with the first label
I’m sowwy, I hope I haven’t offended?
Can I make it up to you by offering you CHOCOLATE?
We were posting at the same time.
In response to the offer of all of your secrets… well, you said I couldn’t imagine that level of trust and you’re correct. I can’t. I’m a little stunned, actually. Flattered….. but floored.
As you know, I have just a little bit of time on my hands so I’m more than happy to take on odd jobs. Ask and ye shall receive – the bible tells you so! (It also says that getting a camel through the eye of a needle is really, really hard – but it’s not so difficult once you convince the camel that bulimia is a good idea!
)
feel free to do to my page what you will. i have absolute trust and confidence in you.
no, not at all. ill give you my password and you can post my poems for me. just kidding, not really, kind of.
you should know by now that i trust you more than you could ever imagine.
Molli! *L* I told you to stop tormenting those camels! Telling them they’ll look fine in a bikini if they lose a few pounds and get a wax job! You’re only setting them up for failure.
Okay – and I have a question! Why is it I have yet to read these poems of yours in published form? I did once she reference to poems included in a book (though future tense) what’s up with that?
Hey! I never said anything about waxing camels – now that would be just plain cruel!
About the book… I was really hoping Mark would field that question for me in my absence. Um, I think, in my case, the phrase “delusions of grandeur” would be particularly appropriate. Mark and one of his friends were/are putting together an anthology of poetry and invited me to tag along on their coat tails
. They’ve both done a book together before with a third person, called Rebel Angels and wanted to do another ‘project’ along similar lines. You’d really have to ask Mark for the nitty gritty details
I don’t really write anymore. Part of the reason behind starting up a new blog was to, hopefully, push me to start writing again… but I’m still in the process of cleaning out the closet so you’re all stuck with old stuff until the cupboard is bare. Sorry about that. I’m a singularly apathetic little being in this department these days. I’m trying to change that. It’s a case of wait and see just now, I’m afraid.
There, how un-interesting was that?
Um, did I actually answer your question, fox?
I have a question in return, for anyone who cares to answer it. Primarily, I’m asking you, fox, and Mark. You both have a thing for poems read aloud and I would like to understand the attraction. So – give
(Pushy, pushy little thing, ain’t she?
)
I understand not writing anymore, because I am just starting to write again. And that did answer my question. I wish you the best of luck with the book.
Well, my first introduction to the thought of poetry aloud came from reading, I believe from an account of a reading of Howl. I later picked up an excellent book (of which sadly I cannot recall the title or author) that talked about New York poetry slams and had a bunch of poems in it. Eventually, a guy I knew gave me a cd that had Kerouac reading some of On the Road and singing some jazz stuff.
And then my ex-fiancee (who is a brilliant poet and has years of stage training) took me to my first poetry reading. From the very first second I was in awe. Here was poetry that breathed. I read a poem, so terrified to speak out loud that even with the microphone I was near impossible to hear. It was probably five or six times before I could read out loud without fear, and once I could I loved the expression.
I love hearing the way the emphasis lies in a poem, where someone catches or pauses or rushes. But I also love voices. Alone in a house I have to hear them, and people have come home to find me on the phone with the tv and radio on. I have books on cd, and on nights when that’s not enough I make Ravyn read to me. In college, when I knew a boy with the same kind of frantic need for sound, I would spend hours on the phone, me in my room, him curled up in his closet so no one could hear him talking. I fell asleep once and woke up seven hours later to find him on the phone, still there – unwilling to hang up the phone and wake me and enchanted with the sound of my breathing. The point of this paragraph is that I’d listen to someone read the phonebook. I have listened to someone read the classifieds. I am just unable to not love poetry out loud.
I’m not sure why other people love it. I hear there are some stable people in the universe who do not require constant reassurance fully as much as oxygen. They may be able to give you a better answer than because I can’t bear to be alone – I want to melt through my skin and into someone’s soul.
Have I answered your question?
Yes, and beautifully at that
I must admit, I am almost exactly the opposite to every statement you’ve made of yourself, so I’m finding everything you’re saying incredibly interesting and enlightening
I absolutely crave silence and I get more irritated by the moment when I don’t get sufficient time alone. I love music but I have to be in a particular mood to listen to it. I just find so much noise to be terribly grating on my nerves. Babble bothers me immensely which is why I rarely listen to the radio or watch tv. I wouldn’t mind the radio at all if they played more music and talked less!
The one person I’ve shared a home with seemed to feel the same way you do about silence. He’d switch both the tv and radio on as soon as he got up in the morning. He’s now buried in the backyard!
As for poetry read aloud, I don’t know. I think I get distracted by the reader. I find them an intrusion between myself and the poem. You’re probably going to think that a little weird, yes?
Also, the couple of recordings of my poems that I made for a friend just seemed all wrong to me. My poems do NOT sound like that in my head.
I find silence to be the perfect backdrop for words and, as I mentioned elsewhere, I began writing because I CAN’T talk when it comes to anything carrying too much emotion. I’ll write a thousand letters before even thinking of picking up the phone. Speaking of, the phone’s not even plugged in here. The line goes straight into the back of the computer – an item I can at least pick and choose it’s level and frequency of noise
My apologies for taking so long to respond to what you’ve written. It makes for a somewhat poor conversation when the host ups and leaves mid-sentence, doesn’t it?
See, socially inept, that’s me.
I won’t take that personally simply because I know you have a thing for Australian women – and I don’t get to take any credit for an accident of birth now, do I?
i just like the sound of a reader’s voice, especially yours. actually, i dont like the sound of your voice, i love it, but you knew that already.
you dont take compliments very well, i know, but ive got bunches to give.
and, i only have a thing for two aussie women. well, maybe three or four, but no more than ten or fifteen.
I am also known to disappear for a few days at a time. Just glad you came back! *G*
And isn’t it fun when you find people who tell you things that make no sense – and yet somehow completely do? I can understand on a theoretical level a need for silence, but I don’t have it. Somewhere after the first 30 seconds in practice I start to wonder if I close my eyes everything disappears but the night blooming jasmine and the wind.
Given my anti-social tendencies, I close my eyes wishing everything would disappear but the night blooming jasmine and the wind!
That sounds like bliss to me.
One of these days I’m going to do a Walden
I have my little, totally self-sufficient cottage by the sea all designed and built in my mind.
It’s merely a power source for my computer that has me a tad concerned
Generators. They make satalite internet now, yeah? Think I saw a commercial. See? You’ll be fine.
For you, Molli (because I think you might like it) – check out: http://theselittlemoments.wordpress.com/2007/05/14/surprises/
Also…the tagline on the blog is “I laugh, I love, I buy shoes on my lunch hour.” How can one resist? If you like life with a sense of humor and joyful vibrance, this looks promising.
I hate shoes, but I love that post you just sent me to visit. Thank you for that – made me smile
Oh, nearly forgot. I don’t know if you get notification, but I’ve added you and Jeremy as contributors at Unsent Letters so you’re all set to go
As I said in the comment I left after yours, I’m not sure what role I should have ascribed to the two of you, so if I’ve mucked up, feel free to point it out and I shall make amends immediately.
Mark, if you’re reading, you know you are more than welcome to contribute also, yes?
I’m glad you liked that post.
Reading it, I immediately thought of you. Intestingly, I’m not really into shoe shopping, but I find the tagline oddly endearing anyway.
I DID get notification by e-mail when you made me a contributor. I have not received a note about the change to author. (Not that I need one, just so you know what notifications send.)
And…off to see what I can do as an author. This sounds like interesting. *pyrr*
Will type more about letters and such, but when slightly more conscious.
Thanks much for inviting me to join you!
~fox
sorry ive ignored you so much, but ive been happily busy elsewhere. i hope you understand. would love to sit in this cafe and sip tea with you though. or go to a bar and have a beer and get a couple of lap dances. sorry, i think i was channeling the spirit of brian atkinson for a moment.
* laughing * Now there’s a name I haven’t heard in some time.
I’m very happy to hear you’ve been amusing yourself elsewhere. Of course I understand! What’s important is that YOU are happy
I’m glad to have heard from you, however. Knowing you’re safe and well is always a good thing for my peace of mind.
Take care, Mark. Drop in every once and a while and leave me a line on how you’re going.
… and post some more poetry!
Hi Fox, just wanting to let you know re:Nicole Blackman, that I’ve attached a document file to the post I put up with the photo of Blood Sugar in it. The lyrics she wrote and performed on both Recoil’s album and Golden Palominos’ album are in it as well as the very short list of mp3s I have of hers.
It turns out I’ve lost almost all of my files of her work, with the exception of 5 of them
Oh Beautiful one what an amazing imagination you have. As usual your poetry has me covered in goosebumps and teary eyed, only instead of being in front of my own computer at home, Im in Ireland in an internet cafe receiving strange looks as my sniffing gets worse and my eye make up proves it’s waterproof…. I’m so happy to hear from you, don’t you get sore eyes from that giant box you now have…. Ok the latest is this, oh before I go on her name is Kate but I rather your memory of Puppies, that about sums her up…
I arrived in Ireland last night staying in Dublin for the moment, then heading towards Josh in Cootehill. Joel is also heading that way around the 15th so we will be able to gig there, very exciting! The Album is finally now being pressd. It will be sent here staright after. I’m not even sure If I’ll still be here, though I’m thinking of extending my flight for another month so I can do Scotland with Joel. Phil has offered to get you and my family a copy asap so let me know if you want to pick one up from my house or for him to drop it off. He’s a darling. He really wants to help, I cant believe it! Im not used to it…
Chain smoking our way through this journey when I get back will have us both admitted immediately for lung transplants. I feel that so much has happened that I have nothing to say…
I’ll arrive home on the 1st of July. If not it will be the 1st of August.
I love you very much, and thank you for the beautiful read, it’s been a while since I’ve read a piece that touches so deeply the core of my emotions. I love how you surprise my feelings.
Wishing you love peace and happiness always
xox
It’s fantastic to hear from you, Juvita! I’ll admit to a little envy (but not the mean kind!) at you getting to visit Ireland. Don’t suppose you want to drop in on my relatives for me and say hi?

Failing that, an Irish boy with a charming lilt will do nicely
You know, ‘Kate’ doesn’t ring any bells whatsoever so I really must have become fixated on her breasts since ‘Puppies’ is the only name that carries any resonance for me!
As for your album – that would be FANTASTIC!!! Please let Phil know he’s welcome to email me any time he’d like me to collect it or whatever suits him. He should have my email address from the photos of you two I sent him (if he got them?)
Thank you, thank you, thank you for dropping by here! It just seemed a little easier in the way of messaging than bothering with MySpace, etc.
Take very good care of yourself, sweetheart. I hope you’ve still got that camera running on overdrive, particularly now that you’re in Ireland. If you could pick me up an Irish accent, that would make a grand present!
Love you heaps and can’t wait to hear from you again. My love to Josh and Joel, too.
xoxoxoxoxox
Hi Fox, just wondering if you got those Nicole Blackman files? It’s been a couple of weeks now so I figure I’ve left it long enough to appear patient and not nagging
Please let me know if I need to re-send any of them. I think there were about five sent in total.
By the way, I was having thoughts last night of putting some of your poetry up on your page for you (since you’re blissfully distracted just now!) I wanted to put a few up from ‘Rebel Angels’ but would like the go ahead before doing so. Primarily, “bang” and “monolith”. Let me know how you feel about it. I’m sick of my own regurgitations, I’d much rather… oh dear, that was an icky metaphor. I’ll stop right there before talking of spitting up your work instead, shall I?
I’ve been using BlogDesk to type up and save your poems. I was intending to save them to YOUR account as drafts – then you merely have to pick and choose which ones to hit ‘publish’ on whenever you like. How easy is that??
Now for the catch, the username and password don’t seem to work. Now, this could be my little BlogDesk tool… or you might have changed your password. If it’s the former, well, there goes that idea, although I can still email the posts to you as text files and then you simply need to cut and paste them into a new post. (You’ll still get out of all of that typing!). If you have changed your password and that’s the problem, give me a yell if you’re still happy for me to post stuff onto your site for you. (Obviously, that ‘yell’ will also need to include your new password! Little tip, DON’T post it here… yes, I’m being VERY obvious
) ~ Love Mol
And Mark, where are you? Drop us a line and let me know how you’re doing
Hope everyone is well. Any lurkers about are more than welcome to leave a ‘hi’ here – even/especially if you’d merely like to draw attention back to your own blog
~ Molli
* Mark – Update
i sent the info to your gmail acct.
you just post away, sweet tater (ky euphemism).
I did! I keep trying to listen to them, but things keep interrupting. Like deafening pouring rain! Fially there is rain. Lots of other stuffs too, but that will make for a LONG and whiny post. We shall settle for saying that life has been a little crazy here, and hopefully it will settle down soon.
Should be back to writing more soon. (I hope.)
All of you peoples here take care.
Hello Beautiful, How are you??? I miss our conversations…. Tea doesnt quite taste the same with out you here…
oK Joel and I made it to Cootehill and played in 2 pubs one called Tir na nog, and the A smiths, We had a ball dont know how the hell it happened, we got so drunk the night we arrived, turned up at Tir na nog and the rest is a blur, the next day Joel and I were walking down the street and saw our names advertised in the window there, God did we laugh Joel said he thinks he remebers me getting a few beers under the belt then finding the owner and demanding a gig, Im sure it was a request rather… Anyway so the gig went down well last Sunday night the crowd loved it which was a releif… Album should be ready soon… Looks like I might be able to get afew gigs here in Dublin so Im staying until the 25th of July now, Im not ready to come home…. But hell do I miss everyone so much. I hope your well and happy, wishing you love peace and happiness..
Love you very much

Hiya fox! Now it’s my turn to have been absent and distracted (although I think I’ve already used up that excuse once before, yes?) Anyway, I’m glad to hear that little Lucien and his friends are getting some love from the skies

You know, long whiney posts are perfectly acceptable here! Go ahead, vent woman!!
At any rate, ’twas lovely to hear from you. I miss your early morning chatter – something I’ve been checking for every time I’ve been online. I hope life calms down for you soon – although there’s a lot to be said for high drama. Consider it spice – or just something to provide contrast and make you aware and appreciative of the quieter times
Juvita, you sound like you’re having an absolute ball! I’d love to have been there at that gig at Tir na nog! It’s great to hear of you being so assertive, too! (Even if it did take a bit of drunkenness to manage the feat!)
I bumped into Kate McMillan on Monday night. She’s doing very well and it was lovely to see her. She’s currently covering your gig at Harba every second week… I think she’ll be only too happy to hand that one back over to you on your return!
So, it sounds as though you’ve fallen in love with Ireland! I hope the camera is working overtime! Can’t wait to hear all about it… and you had better have acquired yourself an Irish lilt, too, miss!
I’m glad you’ve been able to extend your ticket, also. Nothing worse than having to leave a party early when you’re right in the midst of having such a great time
My sister moved to Broome around five weeks back, now. Not a lot else has been happening. All quiet on the southern front
Hopefully I shall hear more from you soon. In the meantime, live it up!
All my love to you and Joel (don’t forget his birthday on the 9th
)
xoxoxoxoxoxo
mol,
thanks for post that stuff on my blog for me. am i lazy or busy? well, im sure you know its a bit of both with a healthy dose of lazy, but the busy part has been much fun. anyways, thank you for being so wonderful. i will be send you an email this weekend probably with a huge attachment, so keep your eyes peeled.
take care.
love, mark
Hi Beautiful, I cant stay but just letting you know tomorrow there will be an Album in my letter box for you, I hope your well and happy beautiful, cant wait to hear from you.
wishing you love peace and happiness always
xox
Hi Beautiful, Hope your well and happy, Minor mess up with album, nextdoor neighbour brought my mail in with your cd, Ive got phil to put it back out, sorry for the drama, let me know if you get it
All my love
xox
Juvita, you should find my reaction to your stunning new album on your MySpace page! (For anyone wanting a sample of Juvita’s gorgeous voice and Joel’s brilliant guitar playing, visit Good Fight’s MySpace page. At the moment, there’s an earlier recording of one of their best songs, ‘Stranger’ which, sadly, doesn’t include Cassie’s wondrous cello, but I’m thinking that will be remedied shortly.) Um, that would be a hint, miss!
Without wanting to sound patronising, I’m so extraordinarily proud of you all, not to mention happy!
As I mentioned in that message to you on your site, the credit you gave me isn’t something I’m worthy of. The three of you have done an amazing thing and that has ALL been a result of your own gifts and the strength of character and desire to get your songs recorded and out there. I must make mention of that artwork on your cd yet again
That truly is some gorgeous work!
Now you just need to make it available for sale to the world
Sorry it took me a little time to get back to you – I’ve been somewhat…um…. out of it of late. My apologies to Joel, also, for not getting in with the happy birthday wishes a little sooner.
Thank you so much for the gift of the cd. I’m thrilled to have such a wonderful record of your talents right here on hand to listen to over and over again!
Love you lots and lots and oodles and oodles
Mark, Mark, Mark…. the promised email seems, sadly, to have gone astray in the ethers. That’s okay, though. I’ve not been around much and can’t say I’m altogether present even now. I’ll forgive you your distractions if you’ll forgive me mine
I hope yours are keeping you well and happy, however!
Oh Beautiful one, neally over… Im really looking forward to catching up over tea! Oh your amazing, you have no Idea how nice it was to hear those solid words of yours, Since having the Album here Ive experienced a kind of uncertainty, but thats me isnt it, when theres nothing to worry about Ill be sure to find something….
Now is everything alright with you, I fly in on thursday night, Ill definately see you before I get back to work… Oh god Work! Im going to be working 90 hours a week for the rest of my life to pay this big blurr off….
Thankyou for the beautiful response, Im so greatful for your enthusiasm.
Wishing you love, peace and happiness always.
Love Juvita xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

new here but not very new. yet i am very attracted to your wistful words and images and possibly to your seemingly sincere desire to communicate through this sometimes unbeautiful and fantastical medium of words. anyway, this is my vague attempt to begin a conversation with you and your cohorts.
I guess this is as good a place as any to apologise for my many absences over the last few months. To those of you who I owe comments, I’m doing my best to MAKE time to read all that you’ve written while I’ve been away and I am extremely sorry to have missed so much and not be here. To have so many of you leaving kind words and thoughts on my page and not respond feels very much as though I’ve broken a commitment to you all and I’m not happy with myself about that. I will, however, do my best to make up for it as best I can and as soon as I can.
Until then, I just wanted to leave a note of thanks to all who have visited and kept in touch – even in the face of my silence. I do appreciate it immensely and will endeavour to do far better in earning such kindness.
My love to you all,
Molli
Just glad to have you back.
Welcome back!
A man is trying a very unusual way to propose to his girlfriend. He wants people to forward an email to as many people as possible and he hopes that it will eventually get to his girlfriend. Details here: http://www.proposal-to-mary.com
Here is what he wants people to send by email:
You could help me a lot to spread my proposal to Mary – it is important that it is distributed as widely as possible so that it eventually reaches Mary. If you would like to support my proposal to Mary, please send the following text by email to a lot of people
————- SNIP (email text end) —————
WHEN YOU RECEIVE THIS, PLEASE HELP TO DISTRIBUTE IT TO OTHER PEOPLE!
For a long time I have tried to find a special way to propose marriage to my girlfriend Mary, whom I know for five years now. I wanted it very special, romantic and memorable, something our grandchildren would still remember.
And here is my idea: I will send out the proposal to Mary to 50 complete strangers, people I don’t know – hoping, that they will forward my proposal to as many people as possible, which in turn forward it etc. And some day, I hope, it will reach Mary, after it has travelled a very long way. I know, it will take a long time and I am quite nervous…
From the poem MY Mary will know immediately that the proposal is for her.
I have created a homepage ( http://www.proposal-to-mary.com ) where you can find the current status of my quest. You can use the homepage to check if the proposal has already reached Mary (in that case it is not necessary anymore to forward the mail).
Once the proposal has reached Mary, I will put a note on these pages. Also I will publish there how many people have read the proposal so that everybody can see how far it has spread and that it is getting closer to Mary.
And of course you will find there what I am waiting for most: Mary’s answer! I can’t tell you, how nervous I am… Will she accept my proposal? Will she like the unusual way how she got it, through the hands of thousands of messengers all over the world?
Please cross your fingers for me! And please – help me by sending the mail to as many people as possible, to help it spread, so that it eventually reaches Mary.
And here is my proposal:
Mary, please forgive me, as you know English is not my native language. And I am not a poet. But I mean it from my heart.
My angel,
Five years ago, I will always remember the day When fate made us meet, blissful Alaskan moments in May Earth spun around us and a journey began Love, warmth, happiness, enough the years to span.
The longer it lasts the more grows our bond And with 80 still – of you I will be fond Whatever happens, I will stay at your side Through good and bad, together let us stride
No second with you was ever wasted
You are the sweetest I have ever tasted
We have spent so many years – why not a life?
Mary, will you marry me – and become my wife?
Mary, if you have received that and have recognized me, then give me a sign so that I can continue with the romantic part of my proposal…

fox’s last blog post..Sooooooo?now that I have a functional computer again I should be rejoining the land of the speaking
Hello gorgeous lady
It’s such a pleasure to find you here. My apologies for not advertising my move – I’m still not sure what I’m doing with this blog as yet. I wanted a place to teach myself some more about coding which required a domain name and web host and, well, this is the result. Sadly, I’m STILL not writing! Oh, except for code, so I guess one purpose has been somewhat satisfied
I need to come and visit you at your blog because I have a proposition for you. While you seem to be getting back into the swing of posting again, I could use a little prompting so my thought was, perhaps we should make a deal. If I see you’ve posted, I HAVE to post within twenty-four hours. You, in turn, have to post anytime you catch ME sneaking a post online. What do you say? Jeremy seems to have had little trouble keeping himself motivated and present all of this time so, if we include him, perhaps it wouldn’t be a bad idea to use HIS prolific nature as our goad to blogging?
If we get enough people on board – particularly those who have been struck down with a vicious case of apathy (ahem, that would be moi
) – then chances are we’ll all be posting daily. Won’t that be FUN given that we all live in different time zones?
Anyway, I’ll slip this comment over your way and onto your site and you can tell me what you think and if you have any variations of the idea (or just one that’s flat out better!
sweet sweet melinda,
ive not written in so long mostly due to my anzac day snafu, how embarrassing for me. yes, im a moron. hell, i live in kentucky that makes it a bit redundant. i posted all of our work to google docs, and paul is most excited. take a look and let us know whats what.
i miss you dearly and i blame myself for that. i know im the worst friend you ever had. well, except for that hussy that stole your shaun cassidy lunchbox back in the day, and the one that stole your justin timeberlake lunch box last week.
hey, can you get me a deal on a toni colette lunch box? just wondering.
with love, mark
YOU are the worst friend I’ve ever had? You take far too much credit, good sir. I’ve not written to you or anyone else in months. In fact, I got those docs and wondered ‘why?’ As there was no letter – or even a note – attached to them, I couldn’t understand why you were sending them to me as a) I have them all already and b) well, again…. why? So, some sort of explanation would help me immensely as I’m not a fan of thinking at all anymore
The ANZAC Day snafu, as you refer to it, has me thinking you worry far too much. It’s not as though I was offended in the slightest. It was a slight amusement, really. I’m sorry if you got the impression that I was in any way distressed by that! Hell, who else in the whole wide world has ever sent me “Happy Australia Day” wishes??? Or knows/cares when it’s ANZAC Day? Have you seen me keeping up with America’s 4,654 public holidays?? Nah-uh! So, enough with the self-reproach!
Please let me know what you wanted me to do with those files and I’ll do my best to follow up on it.
Love Mol
p.s Who the hell is Shaun Cassidy?? Does he have anything to do with the Partridge Family?
So! You are still alive!!!!
I’ve written to you, I’ve sent messages to your friends in Good Fight…all to no avail.
You should let you friends on the other side of the planet hear from you once in a while, even if it is to say you ave nothing to say.
wtf?
Miss you, pretty lady….
And I so owe you an e-mail.

HELP!!!
Hi, great plugin the TTF, but I am having problems with special characters like á é í etc. The font HAS those characters, but when the image is rendered a box appears instead of those chars. Any idea?
I suppose there is nothing doleful enough to bring you out of that shell. The external circumstances of life are as they are, but the rest is a not finding you and a not seeing you and a not being with you. Other things rolled away and landed at the bottom of an insipid hill under a rotting tree waiting for emptiness to bless them I suppose – but they didn’t stay with me. Like so many others. One finds after a time that even a place as large and grand as New York city becomes amazingly empty and oddly bereft when there is no one who wants to sit in cafes at 3AM and dream with you.
I’ve lost everything. Did you happen to find it?
