Gelflings At Play

I think I’ll be crying over you

always

The way people cry at weddings

and the birth of a child

There is such a thing

as too much beauty.

this poem breaks my heart in more ways than one,
and it speaks volumes in just a handful of words.

Five years later, it’s good to see that my predictions were right! :-P Well, the first two lines, at any rate!

I’m kidding – the whole thing still holds true for me… and thank you for what you’ve said about the poem. It’s probably the only one that’s even come close to pin pointing what I’ve really wanted to say on the subject. Pity I didn’t just shut up about it there and then, huh?

Oh wow…I just came upon this one and it’s breathtaking. That kind of heartrending beauty – in a poem or a person – is a rare thing indeed.

Thank you.

Fox and Jeremy, thank you both for your comments :-)

With regard to the rarity in finding that degree of beauty in a person, fox, I agree. (Or perhaps I’m simply not looking hard enough!) The problem with such rarity, however, is that it makes it damn near impossible to leave behind. The word “unforgettable” springs to mind!

Then the comment had a very valid and worthy point :-) and I’m glad you made it :-)

There are many words for memory that, or running through those lines. Because I’m playing with Visual Thesaurus – some of those words are: memorable, lingering, persistant, haunting, relentless, abiding, and one of my favorites (though to be used in phrase, not out) indissoluble. Indissoluble memory. I think I like that.

No…this comment has no point other than to use the word dissoluble. These thing happen.
